Job Description

The Security Supervisor is responsible to manage the security operation during a particular shift which includes, but is not limited to, the following tasks:

  • Conduct the roll call and ensure that all officers are present, in proper uniform and aware of their post orders and all current events which are related to this location.

  • Ensure that security officers are knowledgeable on recent incidents and provide guidance on how established protocols should be followed.

  • Inspect all officers while they are on post.

  • Respond to all incidents and conduct the preliminary investigation.

  • Prepare detailed Incident Reports.

  • Act as the point of contact for the NYPD and FDNY upon their arrival on site.

  • Direct personnel changes during the shift and adjust posts as necessary.

  • Respond to all emergencies, fire alarms, criminal events, medical issues and news worthy incidents and provide direction to our staff while coordinating the responding emergency services response.

Type and Length of Specific Experience Required

  • Minimum of five (5) years prior experience as a Police Officer in local area (or surrounding counties), or with FDNY.

  • Any retired personnel is required to have a current New York State Security Guard License.  You may also be required to obtain a letter from your previous agency showing you are in good standing with that agency.

  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

  • Must have access to reliable transportation

  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).

  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable

  • Conduct quality site inspections and Supervise day-to-day operations at sites.

  • Collection of timesheets and reports as required.

  • Engage, supervise and help train security officers.

  • Will be responsible for coaching, development, and support of security staff.

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with our policies and applicable City & State laws.

  • Maintain a professional attitude with all interactions with clients, employees and security officers.

  • Must prepare written statements and investigations in a clear and concise manner.

  • Must maintain company vehicle during your tour and submit daily field and vehicle reports

  • Investigate incidents and/or customer complaints and compile data for accurate reporting.

  • The Security Supervisor will act as a liaison between our patrons, Security Officers and the main office.
